We learn in the episode "Menace" (season five, episode 19) that a 'young' android named Reece created the Replicators, which destroyed her planet. We also learn that Reece herself is flawed, leaving the question as to why she wasn't deactivated before creating such a devastating 'plague' of mechanical bugs.
I always thought they looked and worked a lot like Legos. *grin*

We also found out that the Ancients created human replicators in Atlantis, but were ashamed of them, so dumped them on a planet far away, and deleted their existence from the Atlantis Database. I love the Replicators!

I still think that the Ancients were responsible for the replicators in this galaxy. Reece was an android. She kept referring to her creater as her father. Who's to say that her "father" was not an ancient. Look at the way she was dressed and look at the replicators in the Pegasus Galaxy (not to mention the way the Ancients dressed), very similar.
That is just my opinion though.

I hadn't noticed that, but it's a good connection, and really does 'fit'.

OK, well i'm not sure if this question belongs in here, but it doesn't seem to be getting much other activity....Replicators vs. The Borg, what do you reckon?
(someone please delete if its not supposed to be here :))

I think it fits fine...
And the replicators would trash the Borg in my opinion. I'm not sure how the Borg could assimilate them.

that's a good one. like jack bauer versus jack bauer. how long into the attack do you think the replicators would get before the borg simply rotated their personal shield frequencies? and would that hold off the reps for long?

I suppose it's a question of who can adapt faster XD
The Borg do have the combined knowledge of a whole bunch of races from our galaxy....but the Replicators have a couple of galaxies aced.
Also if they got close enough to the queen they could enter her mind and possibly take control of the Borg altogether O.o

I don't think the Borg personal shields would do much against the Replicator's acid spit. Then the Reps would make more of themselves with the metallic/robotic components of the drones and the ship itself, eventually consuming everything.
Jennithefluffy1

The question to that being....do you think the other Borg in, say, another quadrant, would be able to adapt a defence to that before the Replicators got to them?
brymstone
05-11-2009, 01:51 PM
i think the borg are to sg what the reps are to trek. they're doppelgangers.

Hmmmmm it's hard to imagine a race that could rival the Replicators, but if anyone can, I'm sure the Borg can XD

i wonder if the anti-replicator weapon would be effective against the borg?

I don't think it would take the Borg long to adjust their frequencies, but it seems to me, that the Replicators advantage has always been numbers and speed. I believe it is there that they would overtake the Borg easily.

Borg Transwarp conduits!!!! They could be over the other side of the galaxy before you can say 'Jim loves peanuts'! XD
However, I do have to concur, the Replicators would eventually be in every nook and cranny of this galaxy and since the Borg don't seem to have mastered inter-galactic travel they'd be a bit stuffed...

Oh and you just know, there will be one, just one Replicator who manages to make the jump with them. Not to mention, I think Borg technology/ships would be a prime place for them to replicate (no pun intended).

of course, if the borg were to assimilate just one replicator, they'd have remote access to the replicator network. albeit for a short time before being disconnected. but they'd grab a boat load of data in that brief connection. probably enough to start or further any trans-galactic warp conduit tech.
you know, the more we discuss it, the more i wanna see them battle it out! :D

The human population of the galaxy would officially not exist!! It would just be an all out battle for the end between machines and machines combined with some organic matter XD

Yeah. Not like he is the first, nor the last actor to throw a fit. Lest we not forget Russell Crowe and his telephone antics, Naomi Campbell and her cell phone throwing, Elton John and his tirades.
Plus, I find it a bit ironic, that incident happened over a year ago, yet is suspiciously "leaked" just 6 weeks prior to the release to Terminator.
I could go on forever.

speaks of their insecurities well. they need to loosen up a bit. if i had their sort of money, i'd buy two of those replicators from the video. then set them against each other!

LMAO!
And, I agree. While, I understand getting into "character" and the intensity it requires with certain roles, they do need to loosen up. Although, I find it quite nice that Christian Bale was able to come out and straight up call himself a punk and apologized (even though he stated he did so soon after the original event). Unlike some other celebrities who throw these fits and never apologize.

with a replicator referee to stay on topic :D

LOL nice save with the replicator referee XD
anywho, thanks for the previous input on the Replicator v Borg topic, it's nice to have a new collection of brains on the topic :P

The replicators would own the borg. The most effective way to kill a replicator is to damage a single block(irony when the I watchs the show, Asgard massively advance. but still a shotgun does the trick). the borg use energy weapons, which don't work on them. AND you guys are not taking into account of the human style replicators. All it would take is the human replicator to put it's hand into a borgs brain, END of borg. Also don't forget that the Replicators can go through shields. (went through a asgard shield when they were testing the rep-weapon) The borg don't have the technology to combat the replicators, because the Replicators have all the knowledge of the asgard and any other advanced race they came across and devoured. Borg comes to a planet takes or kills all the people. Replicators come to a planet and eats it...

How about a Replicator against an Alien...?
Alien (Xenomorph) -->http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn313/AngelicaConstantine/Alien_vs_Predator_2004_-_Alien.jpg
Also if the Replicator tried to put it's hand into an Aliens brain, Alien blood is an extremely potent acid and is capable of corroding on contact almost any substance with alarming speed. It is dull yellowish-green in color, and pressurized inside the body so that it spurts out when punctured. It would melt the replicator blocks. Human form or simple.
BTW The Alien blood is hydrosulphuric acid. Good luck on Replicators defending against that.
Even a Predalien ---> http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn313/AngelicaConstantine/Alienvspredator-2-d-1.jpg
..Which is a young female by the way, would give the replicators one heck of a problem. And considering the way the young female procreates way faster than that of a regular Alien...Big problems!
There is enough life forms out there to make a replicators life miserable.
It seems the female of the Alien species is the smarter of the two (male/female Aliens) and would figure out how to defeat the replicators...eventually.
Also the strength of both Alien and hybrid is well beyond that of human strength. I would say they would match or out match a Replicator.
In the end the Replicators would be wise to avoid this being...especially if it figured out how easy it is to destroy the Replicators. Who says the predatory way of thinking is not a good way of combat?

I think they would win just by sheer volume alone.

While the Alien/Predalien have a lot of advantages, such as speed and agility, I find their vision and movement to be limited, making it difficult for them to compete with Replicators (assuming were speaking of the original replicators, not the human form replicators). I think eventually, just as in SG1, the volumes of Replicators would be overwhelming. Kind of like a human trying to chase a flock of unleashed chickens. Except chickens can't replicate as fast as Replicators....(nor can Aliens/Predaliens)......LOL!

Replicators vs Aliens...I hadn't thought of that...what's stronger, Replicator acid or a Xenomorph's corrosive blood? I think it's a toss-up, but I think the Replicator advantage in numbers would turn the tide.

But it would be one heck of a battle...ya got to admit that?
Win or lose...Aliens/Predalien are one heck of a formidable foe.

Oh, Rep v. Dec would be awesome......that would be a hard one to call too....
Hmmm...Borg v. Aliens are harder to call since Borg are slow in movement., but adapt extremely quick. I might have to lean towards Alien on this one.

Well, a Borg chestburster would be just as horrifying as an assimilated Xenomorph...but yeah, Aliens would win I think.

well there is a KEY weakness in the Alian race though. in order for their race to go they need to live through others. Rep. all they need is dirty to make more. Plus the tech advantage. Replicators can make weapons and once the figure out that Acid vs Alian doesn't work they would resort to other means. borg vs alian I think Alians would win.
