Actually Cheya (Sanctuary) was an ascended Ancient from Proculus, not Atlantis. I'd have to look it up, but I'm not sure it was established the the crew of the Aurora was Lantean. It was established that they were Ancient, but I'm not sure where they were from.

I bet Robin knows.

All the Pegasus Ancients were Lanteans, they all orginated from Lantea (well of course they orginially came from the Ori galaxy....).....

Maybe originally, but for the purpose of the show Chaya was from Proculus, not Atlantis. Recall she had to have Shepp show her around Atlantis. She hadn't seen it before. So, she was not Lantean in the sense that is where she lived.

The distinction is not where the persons ancestors originated from, but where the people resided for the purpose of this thread. I don't tell people I'm from Mexico and the Phillipines because my ancestors are from there. I tell people I'm from California where I was raised and lived a huge portion of my life.

So, I'm opting not to list Santuary as a key episode for the Lanteans.

Lanteans -The Ancients who originally inhabited the city of Atlantis. The name is likely an abbreviation of "Atlanteans," and may be Pegasus Galaxy slang.

When she was mortal, she lived on Proculus and continued to do so even when she became non-corporeal.

OK, but how come a Puddle Jumper / ship / technologie is of Lantean design then, even though it's similar in design to all Ancient stuff. Most of it probably doesn't originate from Lantea, but from off world production plants.

That question would be better suited for the Puddle Jumper thread. But, to answer your question, see my response above yours......The Lanteans were "ancients" who originally inhabitated Atlantis. So, it would stand to reason they are of Ancient/Lantean design.

That's like saying even though Americans build cars in oh pick a country "China", they are therefore Chinese designed cars. Even though they are built in China, they are still American designed cars......wait, did I say that right.......LOL!

Sorry, NF...this is Atlantis. I barely know the names of the characters, couldn't tell you anything about that.

I DO know that the Ancients built the city of Atlantis. Whether the people who lived there later were Ancients, I don't know. It's possible that the 'Lanteans' only lived there AFTER the Ancients had ascended.

I can do a bit of looking around and see what I can find.

The way I read the information was that the Lanteans lived in Atlantis and then populated other planets in the galaxy. Thus, Chaya starting, living and ascending on Proculus (thus, not making her Lantean). Then, asencion followed somewhere down the road. The Aurora crew I'm not sure about because I haven't seen the epi in ages.

I suppose I could have interpreted it incorrectly.

Yes, the crew of the Aurora were Lantean. They were sent to the outter rim of the Galaxy and unfortunatly did not return until 10,000 years later because of a beacon. They could not be taken out of the stasis pods coz they would die. Shame too they did not seem as arrogant as the ones we meet later.

Some (or most) of the humans taken from Earth were taken as slaves by the Goa'uld. I don't know if the Ancients 'seeded' other planets with humans or not...I think they must have, for there to be other human races out there.

Okay, I just thought of this. Might sounds stupid, but I just don't know. Why did the Ancients need humans to populate the worlds? Why didn't they just pro-create themselves. I'm a little confused?

Also makes me wonder how they convinced people from Earth to go with them to another galaxy.....or did they?

Well 10000 years ago, when they returned to Earth, there where 'other' humans (the second evelution).
It being their way not to share their tech with society that aren't ready for them, they probably hid their technological advandcedment and interbreeded (if thats a word).
