Ah, beat me to it, NF. He was on my list. Yum, I mean.....

I liked this charactor. He was a stand up guy but could get down and dirty when the time called for it. He wasn't one to throw his weight around, even though he was representing the Pentagon. But when he had to he did. He respected what was going on at the SG base and the officers.
I'll add more later when I am awake. XDXDXD

Isn't Major Davis the 'replacement' for that slimy Samuels guy? As the liaison between the Pentagon and the SGC, I mean. Samuels was there for the first season, and then Major Davis came along.

Oh, I had forgotten about Samuels. He was originally Gen Hammonds right hand guy and then got reassigned to the Pentagon and was in kahoots with Kinsey.

I always had the feeling that Hammond didn't like Samuels...there was just something about the way the two interacted...as if Hammond tolerated Samuels only because he had to...as opposed to the respect that is obvious between Hammond and Major Davis.

I am really glad they didn't go with him having a mustache, because, can I say, that alternate reality Davis was creepy with it. Seriously.

One of my favourite episodes with him is the Foothold episode. I love his reaction to the weird stuff he sees. Classic.

Colin Cunningham, the actor who plays Major Davis, also has had 'regular' parts in other shows, one where he's a bad guy. He has the goatee in it...I agree...he looks like a bad guy when he has facial hair. Guess it's that 'baby faced' look that makes him 'non-threatening' in Stargate SG-1.

I think that was one of his first encounters with aliens, wasn't it? *grin*

I've seen him in small parts here and there. Although, I missed him in Psych and The 4400 (which BTW, Kavan Smith is in too).

I guess it's a testament to the actor when we don't 'recognize' them in the parts they play, that we only see the characters.
