Oma Desala is a very interesting character, and one who really remains an enigma to viewers. We know that she's very fond of Daniel, possibly even loves him, if that's possible for Ascended Beings. We know that she walks very close to the line with the others of her level of existence, and that The Others (who are NOT the same as the Ancients or The Ascended) are watching her.
We know that it's because of her habit of helping mortals ascend that Annubis was able to deceive her, and achieve partial ascension. And we know that because of Daniel, she enters into eternal battle with Anubis to prevent him from destroying...well, everything.
We don't know who became the caretaker for Sha're's son Shifu, the Haresis, or if he no longer needed such protection.
Oma seemed more interested in individuals than she did the entire human race, as witnessed by pulling Daniel out of his battle with Anubis to protect him (from The Others, for interfering, possibly from Anubis as well), and allowing the destruction of Abydos...even though she helped all of the Abydonians ascend, had she left Daniel alone, those people would have lived long and happy lives.

This is a maybe spot for me.
See, Daniel was not strong enough to take on Anubis to begin with...so who is to say he would have won and the Abydonians would have survived?
I think Oma knew this and that is why she pulled Daniel out...and when the time came, ascended the Abydonian people. She knew Daniel care a lot for them.
She is a very odd being, but she seems to do the right thing. And I do believe she cares for Daniel. Wether it be a Love of a parent or a lover...we will really never know.

As an Ascended Being, Daniel had the same abilities as the other Ascended. At the time, Anubis wasn't as powerful as he was able to become due to the fact that basically the Ascended and The Others failed to step in and stop him. Anubis was still 'caught between' the mortal realm and the Ascended level of existence. Later, he had managed to 'ascend' further, allowing him to travel between the two at will. Had Oma left Daniel alone, he would have destroyed Anubis. Just my :2cents:.

But I thought Daniel or Oma said he was not strong enough...I though they ment power to destroy. My mistake.

I may have misunderstood...it's been awhile since I watched that particular episode...guess I should check it out! *grin* I'll have to look for it now, but I thought there was something mentioned in season 8 "Threads" that was about the moment when Daniel was about to destroy Anubis...something to the effect that it had been a mistake to stop Daniel...again, I might not be remembering correctly. I'll look that up!
