Ah, yes. An emotional Humanoid Replicator who was infatuated with Sam, double-crossed by SG-1, and spent the rest of his time trying to find a way to have Sam and his revenge.

The story line with Fifth was very complex and emotional...on the one hand, he's a Replicator, and the enemy...on the other, he shows complete faith in SG-1, and helps them trap his own kind, and himself. He was innocent enough emotionally and mentally that the betrayal twisted him into an angry, vindictive creature. Who was ultimately destroyed by his own creation. I believe that happened because he was still naive, still far too trusting. Replicator Sam was the receptacle for the majority of his anger, and responded basically as she had been programmed.

The destruction of the Replicators using the Ancient weapon on Dakar was a bit anticlimactic...although by logical progression they would have found a way to do exactly what was done even without the ancient weapon. After all, Jack, with the knowledge of the Ancients in his head, built the first weapons that defeated them. I always wondered why the Asgard hadn't figured that out, they were contemporaries of the Ancients, so I figure they should have had technology equal to that of the Ancients.

Thor was a very vocal proponent for Stargate Command and SG-1, even appearing during the briefings that were introducing the leaders of several key nations to the existence of the Stargate Program. Sen. Kinsey had designs of taking over the SGC...which were sort of smashed when Thor showed up, and requested that Gen. Hammond remain. (Loved the whole 'finger in the air', mocking Kinsey, and correcting him with "Supreme Commander"...LOL!)
