I have a question about the Tok'ra and it is contradicting a lot from what I saw in the shows. When Hathor first came on it was found out she was a queen and she told Daniel she needed the code of life to have her spawn. Daniel figured it out that it was DNA she needed (basically the birds and the bees 101). In the episode where Egiria was found Jack asked how could she make babies without a guy friend and Malek said it was an asexual process. So which is it?

Also, Salmek was referred to as one of the oldest and wisest of the Tok'ra, yet in the ep where Sha'nok claimed to have communicated with her symbiote, Freya said that the Tok'ra were the only spawn of Egiria. How can there be "the oldest and wisest" when they were spawned at the same time.

I so need to get a life. I am analyzing this show entirely too much. I guess since I have seen them so many times that that is all there is to do with them now. LOL. Someone smack me. LOL.

Okay, first of all, it is possible to need DNA and to reproduce asexually. There are several reptilian species (lizards if memory serves) that can reproduce asexually if there are no members of the opposite sex to procreate with. New DNA is preferable, as it prevents defects.

Egeria didn't just spawn once, and hey, looky there, all of the Tok'ra were born at once! I'm certain that she had many...um...litters? of young...thus she WAS the mother of them all, and Selmak IS the oldest/wisest of the Tok'ra.

I've seen the episodes many times as well...I do tend to pay closer attention to the details...but for the most part, I'd rather not sit and pick it apart. I just enjoy it, and remember that as a writer, sometimes a few details slip by. I have my own canon booboos...but I'm just ignoring them. For now. *grin*
