Don't even get me started talking about this pain in the neck. We will be here all night.

The episode that introduced Ishta is the first time we see female Jaffa. Warriors in the same vein as their male counterparts, Ishta had left her presumably cushy position as a priestess to save baby girls who were to be sacrificed to Moloc (and this is the only Goa'uld whom we learn about who practiced such cruelty...although myths of the other 'gods' indicate that many of them demanded human sacrifices as well, Ba'al being one of them.)
She was strong, focused, and stubborn. Single-minded in doing what she thought was best, she didn't often listen to the counsel of others. Sam managed to get through to her, and as a result, a little girl's life was saved. Ishta and her warriors became allies in the battle for Jaffa freedom, although her eagerness to attack head-on caused a few problems.
That General Hammond was willing to allow Ishta and her people (including the horses!) find shelter and safety at the SGC while a new planet was located for them shows the respect that he, and the other members of SG-1, had for her.
It was nice to see Teal'c getting a life beyond the SGC and Star Wars movies...*grin* Ishta was probably the only woman strong enough to handle him in a relationship, and I think it's a shame that we never saw more.
The only problem I had with the character was actually the actress who portrayed her, Jolene Blalock. I thought she acted much like her character, T'Pol. I haven't seen Ms. Blalock in anything else, but have friends who have, and their opinion of her acting isn't favorable. I think the character of Ishta might have been better served with a better actress.
