This is one character I think got totally screwed by the writers all through the show. His name was "MASTER" Bra'tac. That mean show respect. Yet Teal'c seemed to be the only one really showing it.

This man should have been the leader of the Jaffa rebellion. He should have been head of that council and maybe they might have accomplished something productive. He also should have been Leader of the Jaffa after the council was dissolved.

But no. The writers put that nutcase in charge that goofed around with the ancient device on Dakara and wanted to attack Earth instead of trying to attack the Ori. Look what happened. Then that is the last you see of Bra'tac. You don't even see him in the movie. What is that all about?

Did you notice that most of the older Jaffa all had black tatoos? Only two had a gold tatoo which means that out of all the older Jaffa only Bra'tac and Gerek were First Primes. Gerek ended up backing the wrong horse and died. That left only Bra'tac. The fact that he was First Prime means he had the leadership skills, experience, and training for the job. This character had so much potential and those silly writers ruined it.

I believe that Hammond and the members of SG-1 (even Jack, in his own way) very much respected Bra'tac. I believe there was respect between Bra'tac and Jacob Carter/Selmak as well.

I do have to agree that Bra'tac was the logical choice for the leader of the Free Jaffa. But by that point in the show, the writers had so screwed the pooch there was no way to get out of it.

You have to remember, during seasons 9 and 10, the writers had completed their foray into insanity, and were pummeling us with Cam Mitchell and *gag* Vala. They couldn't be bothered with keeping the regular cast members active in the show, let alone a 'recurring' character!

I loved Bra'tac so much that I find it hard to see the actor in all the other roles he does. I'm like "he can't be that shady motel owner... he's Bra'tac!"

I'm hoping he'll show up in Continuum. That'd be nice.

I've seen Tony Amendola in several things, and I have to admit that there have only been a couple of movies that I had that problem with...I'm thinking the script was the problem. He's a terrific actor, able to make the audience see not him, but the character he portrays. Too few actors can do that.
