Which actors would you like to see in the new Stargate, or characters previously introduced in stargate in Stargate Universe

I don't think it should have any of the main cast as regulars. Although, I wouldn't mind seeing a cameo every now and then. Although, I was always fond of Colin Cunningham. I wouldn't mind if he became a regular on the new show (depending on the premise).

I would also love to see Garwin Sanford, I just don't know how they would fit him in as a regular.

What i actually mean is people like Lorne from Atlantis or Bill from SG1, Lt. Cadman someone like that,

by actors i mean who could be a lead actor like Joe Flannigan, Ben Browder, Richard Dean Anderson or maybe the guy who is similar to these commands the base, and a female lead of the main team, who would be the scientist type?

Well, it did say Actors or characters.

I still with Colin Cunningham who played Major Davis. But like I said, since I don't know the entire premise of the show, it's hard to say what position to put him in. I could forseeably see him in a lead role as I've seen him play that role in other movies, but I've also seen him play a jerk and a hit man. LOL!

I stick with my original statement about Garwin Sanford who guessed starred a few times as Narim and guessed started on Atlantis.

Honestly, I think the show should have nothing at all to do with the original or Atlantis and no one from those shows should be on it. Have it totally seperate. Have it take place on another world and another galaxy (the ancients traveled to the Pegasus Galaxy, whose to say they did not go to another galaxy).

I would have the main characters be all civilian. No military. It would be too much like the originals. Have it made up of civilians from various planets.

Of course if that does not pan out, then there is always my original idea I had in another post. Have them find out that there was a civilization before Atlantis and they actually built the stargates and like the Gould the Ancients took credit. Make the Ancients out to be not so great after all and have the new civilization alive and thriving.

Like I said before, if you read all the books on ancient lost civilizations, you might have heard of the civilization that I took my user name from, Lemuria. It is said to have predated Atlantis and was far more advanced.

Now that is an interesting thought. I had always thought of mixed teams. But, all civilian, hmm.....that could work.

only problem would be the Government wouldn't allow it, plus it would be boring, They couldnt have an enemy, no P-90s as people need to be trained to fire them and most scientists arent, i personally think that we should have scientists with military backup but the team still needs to have a military leader no the expedition but the team as they know tactics

The creators of the third Stargate Show agree with you. They have stated Emphatically that the new series will be a totally separate entity and not have anything to do with the first two. It's a new series, not a spin-off like Atlantis. Now whether or not they have the same actors, but as different characters, that will yet to be seen.

Why would a government be needed if it was another galaxy. I am referring to the fact that no one from Earth would be on it at all. Like I said, a whole other planet in another galaxy.

They would have to build the show with the premise that the government was never involved in the first place. I think it is all dependent on how they play it out. How did they get to the new galaxy, were they already there? How did they get the equipment they are using, did they make it themselves?

I think we're missing the point. Your assuming it will have something to do with the SGC as we know it, but they have stated that it won't. It'll still be 'us,' but there won't be a Stargate Command and it'll deal with the ninth Chevron, whatever that means. It's entirely possible that it could be civilian run. I.E. Scientists, but the fundamental problem with that is that they want to entertain us and like it or not, that usually means guns and shooting which implies some sort of military presence.

Anissa T

Your assuming it will have something to do with the SGC as we know it

Actually, quite the contrary. There are many non military run programs that still get funded by the government. I really do think it is a valid point. But, like I stated before, it's all in how the writers decide to start the show. If we are dealing with the 9th Chevron, of course people are going to equate it to the SGC. But, even if we assume for a moment that it has zero to do with the SGC, doesn't mean the government isn't involved. And, let us assume for a moment that the government "isn't" involved, that would still beg the question, how did they get where they are (i.e. new galaxy), how did they get their equipment etc.

I'm sure some easy explanations would be private funding, but that would take a whole heck of a lot of private funding or the characters in the show independently built their ships, weapons etc.

And, I think I still stand with my original statement. I think Colin Cunningham would work well. Just because he was in a military position in SG1, doesn't mean he has to play a military position in the new show. And, we've already seen Garwin Sanford play a scientist, so easy fit under Lemuria's scenario.

Matter of fact, I wouldn't be suprised to see people who've played in the show. I mean, watch SG1, Atlantis and even Eureka and see how many of the same actors they use.

JMHO

You were wondering how they got to another galaxy. I am saying that they were always there. It would be like the whole thing starting over. These people always lived in that galaxy and maybe on one planet they unearthed a stargate. Later they find out about it's origins and that is when they can find out that they gates were built by a civilization older than Atlantis.

I am saying that they were always there.

I thought about that too and I like that idea as well. Now, a civilization older than Atlantis.....that's a really good idea too!

Why aren't you a writer for the show?

LOL!

OH GOOD LORD, NO!!!!! Please tell me this new show will not have anything to do with time travel. I hated the time travel episode of SG-1, talk about B-O-R-I-N-G!!! I turn the channel if they rerun the old time travel eps and I have not seen the last two episodes of season 8 since the nights they aired because of the whole time travel thing. I can't explain it, but it always drives me nuts.:huh1:

I was thinking of an idea a few weeks back about a earth ship gets stuck and sent back to when the ancients were are race in the galaxy but it would be too restricting as you couldn't kill anyone, even getting attacked as what if that ship has the ancient who created the first race of humans, what if the planet was saved from been destroyed in a dooms day plot against the ancients but we come in too try to save the planet and send the whole thing south which has been known to happen when us meddling kids get involved.

its the problem with a time travel story, that anything you were do, could make you or the population on earth totally disapear think of it as Going back in time and Killing yourself, you wouldn't exist today because you now have no future. same as back when the Ancients were creating the first humans with the Dakara device what if Dakara had been attacked what if the Ancients never made it there. We wouldn't exist

Ofcourse its in the Shows Universe.

I know what could save Stargate Universe: if it had these characters / actors in it.

Richard Dean Anderson - General Jack O'Neill
Michael Shanks - Dr. Daniel Jackson
Amanda Tapping - Colonel Samantha Carter
Christopher Judge - Teal'c

I think even Robin K might give it a go then.

I don't know if even my fave characters could entice me to watch anything with "Stargate" in the title, and "Robert Cooper" as the head writer (or any other production position). The two are not compatible, as history has proven. If Brad W. and Joe M. were the head writers, I'd so be there!
