In a fight (no weapons) who do you think would win?

I say Gen. Landry just because he looks in better shape.

I agree, but I would still be rooting for Gen Hammond. He always seems to have something up his sleeve when he "really" needs it.

General Landry looks to be in better shape, but judging by what I've seen of Hammond, if the safety of one of his people was at stake, he would wipe the floor with Landry.

I agree with Livia, if it was someone under his command at stake then Hammond would win... and although I think that Landry would win I would still be routing for Hammond (I really like Hammond)

I think that Landry would win, because he's in better shape and somewhat taller then Hammond.

Hammond. I dont like landry at all, And so far there hasnt been much development to him. Hes just another general

Hammond always had a trick up his sleeve and could win

Plus, if all else fails, he could just use his body fat to knock landry out XD

But still, Hammond was always one of my favs :p He was the best of leaders. Always making the best decision and sticking with it. And never letting the goverment get in his way in many episdoes : o

I like Landry, only because I've liked Beau Bridges since before he joined Stargate.

i think landry was a good general. but he didn't spend as long on screen as hammond. so we didn't get to develop as much of a rapport with him as we did with hammond. i think landry liked to play dumb, then ambush you with some out-of-nowhere smarts. kinda like columbo, but better dressed :D

Yes, cM, you have. In Columbo, but Peter Falk is also the grandfather in The Princess Bride. Assuming you've seen THAT. If you haven't, watch it NOW! Seriously, now.
Sorry, back on topic...
I like Hammond more, but Landry's pretty cool in his own right. And I don't think they'd be fighting over anything...but if they did, it could go either way.

i like hammond more too landry is just like a substitute and he will never replace hammond

It is hard for someone to step into a favourite character's place. Hammond was the original and people accepted him. Having a new person step in to be the replacement is hard. Nobody wanted Hammond to go, So Landry has to fight the popular view. Just the same as when the beloved Jack O. left SG-1 as leader, everyone thought none can take his place. Hammond was unique, as is Jack. Their replacements are too. Some similarites but different. Whether you like them or not, is up to you. We all have our likes and dislikes..(jmho)

I wouldn't put too much between them. As the portrayal of Generals both actors did quite well, and I've worked with a lot of brass of that rank. That said, as much as I liked Don, Beau could have ranked higher in the fans esteem if he had the same sort of mileage.
