View Full Version : He Came Through The Gate (UNFIN)

Black Hunter

This is just a little something I whipped up last night, hope you all like it.

Boba groaned softly to himself as he vaulted back into the cockpit, still halfway through removing his armour for a decent clean. He’d almost reached the stage where he was willing to fake his own death to get some free time, but he wasn’t quite that desperate yet; he knew he could hold on for just a few weeks longer. He dropped into the chair and immediately wished he hadn’t. Right there in front of him was what appeared to be a large ring made up of what appeared to be many smaller sections. He turned on his cloaking device and ducked back down the ladder, quickly yanking his armour on and grabbing his weaponry before heading back up to the cockpit. What he saw rated amongst one of the stranger things he’d encountered.

He watched as several large spacecraft appeared and headed through the portal that was now filled with some kind of shimmering blue substance. He shrugged, figuring it was his ticket out of danger and carefully piloted Slave 1 into a gap between two of the larger ships and headed through to the unknown.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He quickly swung out of the line as he cleared the exit point and he spun Slave 1 around before releasing several missiles and sonic charges.
His plan was to destroy what ever he had come through and build a new life for himself in this new area. What he wasn’t expecting was how personally his travelling assistants would take the attack - they took it very badly. As soon as his weapons were away, he peeled away and watched them on his sensors, but he should have fled hard and fast. His attack was successful and the portal broke apart, trapping everyone here. Several of the bigger ships opened fire on his ship and broke his shields apart easily. Everything he did, they were ready for. It was almost as though his opponents could read his mind.
For the first time in his life, Boba Fett feared for his life as several red emergency lights flashed in his helmet’s HUD and he knew he was in serious trouble. He wrestled with what was left of his steering and managed to get snagged by the gravity of a near by planet. The other craft appeared to lose interest in him as Slave 1 started a death roll and headed ever closer to the planet’s surface. Boba kept wrestling with the controls as the surface loomed closer and he knew he was going to die.
‘Hang on dad, here I come.’ he uttered as Slave 1 hit the surface and gouged a great chunk from the ground. Boba was hurled from his seat and straight out of the cockpit. He narrowly missed a sharp edge of a plate as it tore free and instead was tossed out a large hole to land quite some distance away, battered, bruised and barely conscious.
‘Maybe not dad, I think I’m gonna live.’ he uttered softly as he slid into darkness.
~Meanwhile, On Earth~
Major Cameron Mitchell led his team up the ramp and through the Stargate, heading to P4X-662. They were to explore the lay of the land and report back any civilisation or sign of the Priors. Even Vala seemed quiet as they headed off on yet another adventure. Teal’c just couldn’t shake the fact that today was going to be different, he didn’t quite know why, but he just knew.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They stepped out of the second gate and Teal’c’s gaze was immediately grabbed by the smoke and dust hovering in the air off to their left.
‘Major Mitchell, I see what appears to be civilisation.’ he added ad everyone moved down to ground level, and the gate shut down.
‘Alright, let’s check it out. Stick close; there could be anything around here.’ Mitchell replied as they headed towards what they thought was a village.

~At the Crash Site~

Slave one sparked and smoked, but there was no sign of life. Boba was still out for the count and showed no signs of coming around anytime soon. The right shoulder of his armour shone bright with blood and his left leg was bent at an obscene angle. Slave 1, once a proud ship, feared by many, was now nothing more than twisted wreckage, useless scrap with nothing but memorise worth keeping.

SG1 crept slowly closer.
‘I don’t think this is a village. It’s too quiet.’ Daniel called as they walked.
‘I agree with Daniel, there’s no one here.’ Sam piped up, moving to the edge of the wooded area and peeking out from behind a tree. Teal’c sniffed the air briefly before moving to stand behind another tree and take a look around.
‘Never the less, we must investigate this. It could reveal new information about the Priors plans.’ he added as Vala moved to his flank.
‘I’m more thinking we should check for salvageable stuff from that wreckage.’ she pointed to the smoking remains of Slave 1 and shrugged.
‘Vala, no. Survivors first, then we’ll do what we came here for. Alright team, move out.’ Mitchell added as he led SG1 across the new clearing, ever closer to the wreckage.

Teal’c swept his eyes over the wreck; it seemed familiar in some way.
‘I’ll head around to the far side, whoever was inside this craft may be over there.’ he called, moving to skirt left around the front of the craft.
‘Ok, Jackson, go with him. Sam, see what you can find out about where it came from. Vala, you’re with m, don’t touch anything.’ he turned right, Vala tagging along with him as Sam pulled out some of her gear and started on evaluation what ever this thing was.

Teal’c and Daniel worked their way through the uprooted trees and piles of dirt, both men keeping a sharp eye on their surroundings when something metallic caught his eye.
‘Daniel Jackson, I believe I have found the pilot of the craft.’ he called before jogging over to where Boba lay and dropped to one knee. Daniel joined him seconds later, kneeling on the other side of the fallen figure.
‘I recognise this armour, but I don’t understand how he got here.’ Teal’c added as they rolled the body over and he quickly found the catch for the helmet.
‘Mitchell, Sam, Vala. We have one occupant over here, most likely male and he appears to have some serious injuries.’ Daniel radioed in and listened as three pairs of feet came running. Teal’c finally worked the helmet free and stared down at the face that was now revealed.
‘You said you recognised him. Where from?’ Daniel asked as he carefully re-positioned Boba’s fractured leg.
‘His name is Boba Fett. He’s a Bounty Hunter from the planet Mandalore. As far as I knew, he’s a figment of George Lucas’s imagination. He’s not supposed to exist.’ Teal’c replied as he rocked back on his haunches. Daniel just blinked a few times in disbelief as the rest of the team gathered.
‘What have we got here?’ Cameron asked as he crouched beside Daniel.
‘A Bounty Hunter by the name of Boba Fett. According to Teal’c, he shouldn’t exist, but there’s no mistaking that he’s here.’ Daniel replied as Sam and Vala both crouched beside Teal’c.
‘Ok, well he’s obviously in bad shape, let’s get him back home and patch him up. We’ll know more when he comes around.’ Mitchell said.
‘He’s not stable to move yet Cam. Let’s see what we can do here first before we go moving him.’ Sam replied as she pulled out her rudimentary first aid kit and straightened the leg as best she could. Vala stood and grabbed a sturdy looking stick and cleaned it back to bare wood before handing it to Sam. Carter quickly, but still very carefully splinted the break before nodding to Teal’c.
‘Ok, that should hold until we get him home. Next question, how do we move him?’ everyone was silent, thinking when Teal’c stood and moved towards the wreckage.
‘If I remember correctly, Boba has a good supply of medical gear on board his ship. I’ll be right back.’ he added before ducking through what was left of the rear hatch and crawling through the maze of metal.

He worked his way forward and found the medical locker, marked in a similar way to what had been described in one of his favourite books. He rose to a half standing position and cleared the area in front of the door before yanking it open with a feral squeal as the battered metal protested. Teal’c just ignored the sound and reached into the now open locker, withdrawing a stretcher. He dropped back to the floor and snaked back towards the exit, the stretcher dragging along behind him.

Daniel looked up as Teal’c emerged.
‘Nice timing, he’s coming around.’ he called over his shoulder. Teal’c nodded and stood, carrying the stretcher under one arm. He laid it next to the prone Bounty Hunter before gently lifting him across, Daniel lending a hand.

Boba groaned softly as he came around slowly. It was bright, too bright. His helmet was gone. He carefully cracked one eye open and looked around. Teal’c caught the look and smiled softly, moving Boba’s helmet into view.
‘Where am I? Who are you?’ Boba ground out, pain washing over him.
‘You’re on P4X-662. We’re from Earth; we’re going to help you.’ Daniel replied, drawing Boba’s attention to him.
‘My ship…took major damage. I’m stuck here now.’ Boba replied, the pain making it hard to keep talking.
‘Not quite. We’ll take you back to Earth and patch you up. You’re very lucky.’ Sam added as she looked up from where she was working.
‘Earth? I’ve never heard of it.’ Teal’c’s mouth twitched before he replied.
‘Of course not, it’s in a totally different galaxy.’ Boba nodded the pain now almost unbearable.
‘I see…on board my ship…in the med-chest…Thematol. It’s a pain killer…I need it.’ Teal’c nodded and scrambled to his feet again and ducked back through the maze and returned to the medical locker. He shouldered the door open further and shone his torch around the shelves, looking for Thematol. He found o box with several syringes of the drug inside and grabbed it before working his way back out again and leaping free just as several main support struts gave way and the hatch way collapsed.

He slid to his knees beside the Bounty Hunter and drew one of the syringes out before ripping the other shoulder of Boba’s uniform and quickly injecting the compound. Boba’s breathing eased again and he cracked the tiniest smile.
‘Thank you friend. Help me get this chest plate off; the catches are at the sides.’ Daniel nodded as they found them and worked them free before adding the chest plate to the pile of gear beside him.
‘Come on, let’s get moving.’ Mitchell called, his gaze drifting over everything.
‘Wait. I can’t leave Slave 1 here like this. I must destroy it or I’m not leaving.’ Mitchell rolled his eyes as he turned away.
‘How do we set it off?’ Daniel asked as he picked up Boba’s discarded gear and passed the chest plate to Sam.
‘The standard one requires a voice ID command to be given from the cockpit, but that’s out. The back up setup requires a coded energy blast to be fired at the reader under the front cockpit, on the outside. Who’s the best shot?’ everyone turned to look at Teal’c.
‘Probably Teal’c. His scores are almost unrivalled.’ Mitchell replied. Boba nodded and drew on of his blasters and fiddled with something on the handgrip.
‘Take this and move to the direct front of Slave 1. At the base of the cockpit bubble is a small square reader, about the size of my helmet. Shot that reader with that blaster and run. You’ll have about a minute to get away before she blows.’ Teal’c nodded as he took the weapon and tucked it into his belt.
‘Let’s got you out of danger first and then I’ll fire.’ Teal’c replied as he and Daniel picked up the stretcher and headed towards the tree line.

Teal’c set Boba down and returned to the clearing, eyes scanning for the reader which he soon spotted. It was matt black and unobtrusive. He drew the weapon and took careful aim, making sire he was assured a hit. He fired and the shot just seemed to be absorbed to the reader.
‘RUN!’ Boba howled and Teal’c took off. He stumbled over one of the fallen trees but regained his stride and made a dive for the cover of the trees just as Slave 1 went off with a bang. The shock wave whipped past the six figures pressed to the ground and dissipated.
‘Whoa, now that’s dangerous.’ Mitchell exclaimed as SG1 stood and dusted themselves off before Teal’c and he picked Boba up and headed back towards the Stargate.
‘What was that thing I came through and who the hell shot me down?’ Boba asked, slightly drowsy.
‘What…whoa, whoa, whoa. What did you see up there?’ Daniel asked as they stopped and Sam started dialling home. Boba raised one slightly shaking hand and pointed to the gate.
‘One of them, but much bigger. Big enough for massive ships to fly through, big enough to make Slave 1 look like a child’s toy. When I opened fire and broke the ring up there, the bigger ships opened fire and sent me down here.’ everyone stopped and spun to face him.
‘What?!’ Sam exclaimed before returning to the DHD, dialling as fast as she could.
‘Just great, the Ori have arrived.’ Daniel uttered as the gate flared to life and Boba balked.
‘Just relax Boba Fett. We’ll have you safe and comfortable in no time.’ Teal’c added as he and Mitchell walked up the stairs.
‘Hold it. I have no intention of going anywhere laying flat on my back. At least let me have that much dignity before I become just a memory.’ Teal’c stopped just short of the gate and nodded before handing his end of the stretcher to Daniel and carefully lifting Boba into his strong arms and gently settling him his feet, keeping Boba’s arm around his shoulders. The battered Bounty Hunter hissed in pain, but he was determined.
‘Ok, ok, give me a minute.’ Boba uttered before taking a tentative hop forward, Teal’c right beside him. He offered his hand to Daniel and nodded towards his helmet. Daniel handed it to him and picked up the discarded back plate, taking the chest plate from Sam with a grin.
‘Everybody ready?’ Cameron asked as Sam, Vala and he walked through.
‘Wounded first.’ Daniel added and Boba nodded before carefully moving forward and through the event horizon, helmet clutched tightly in his bloodied right hand.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He released a breath he hadn’t even realised he’d been holding and opened his eyes.
‘What in all the empire is this place?’ he uttered before hie leg gave out again and he slumped. Teal’c quickly leant in closer and swept him up into a stable carry before heading down the ramp to the waiting gurney. Daniel emerged moments later and smiled, the two armour plates gripped tightly in his hands.
‘Welcome to Earth Boba, hope you enjoy your stay.’ Daniel called. Teal’c set Boba down gently and took the helmet from Boba’s death grip.
‘I’ll bring your helmet and body armour dawn in just a moment.’ Boba nodded and lay back.
‘Wait, the Thematol. I don’t know how I’ll react to your pain killers, so I’ll just keep mine handy.’ Teal’c nodded and set the box of Thematol on Boba’s chest.
‘Just one more thing Boba Fett. We don’t have bacta here; all recoveries will be done the old-fashioned way.’ Boba groaned in irritation as he was whisked away.
SG1 gathered in the briefing room and grinned.
‘Teal’c, what was that comment about bacta supposed to mean?’ Sam asked as she sipped her coffee.
‘Where Boba Fett comes from, they have a miracle compound that can heal any injury in almost no time at all. It is a kind of organism, I’m not exactly sure what, but it has the potential to bring a person back from the Pearly Gates.’ everyone stared at him stupidly.
‘Wow, that’s one miracle item alright. You’d better head down to the infirmary Teal’c, Dr Lam just called in, he’s out of surgery.’ General Landry added as he walked in. Teal’c rose, nodded to everyone and left with the discarded armour in his hands.
~In the Infirmary~
Dr Lam was just about ready to sedate her latest patient, he was driving her nuts. He was inquisitive about everything yet he didn’t get the most basic of principles. She sighed and turned back towards Boba just as Teal’c walked in.
‘How is he doing Dr Lam?’ Teal’c asked pleasantly, the barest hint of a smile on his face. She put on a brave face and walked over to him.
‘I’m about ready to sedate this guy. He’s demanding to know what I did and exactly what drugs I used, but when I explain it, he gives me a blank look. Where did you find this crackpot?’ she asked in exasperation.
‘We found him on P4X-662. His name is Boba Fett and he is not from this galaxy. If not for my vats experience with the Stargate system, I’d say I was hallucination, but he is really here, in a place where he shouldn’t be.’ she just shrugged and walked off.
‘You try and explain what I did. The report is at the foot of his bed.’ she called over her shoulder. Teal’c turned to Boba and nodded slowly
‘Ah, Teal’c, if I’m not much mistaken. It seems you understand my home better than anyone else here. What is this place?’ Teal’c sat down and set Boba’s gear down on the floor beside his chair.
‘This place is called the SGC. From here, the staff can visit many planets, all across the universe. We have found many new and interesting races and places, but by far, you are the most fascinating thing we’ve found. I still don’t understand how or why you are here, but that’s not important.’ Boba grinned and turned his attention to his uniform.
‘Know where I can get any beskar. These stupid people resorted to drastic measures to remove my armour.’ Boba lifted up his shoulder plate, revealing the neat cut that bisected it neatly.
‘Not beskar but I’m sure we can fix that, as well as any other damage your armour sustained.’ Boba nodded and yawned, exhausted from his ordeal.
‘I’ll take you up on that. So, you said there was no bacta, so what am I supposed to do about these injuries?’ Teal’c picked up Boba’s upper body armour and helmet and carefully placed them on the table, with the rest of his gear.
‘as I said previously, you’re going to have to recover the old fashioned way, that means not getting up and walking around until the bones in your leg have fully healed and no lifting with your right arm until the muscles have all repaired themselves. I’ll see what I can do about getting your armour repaired, but only if you promise that you’ll stay in bed and do as you’re told.’ Teal’c fixed the Bounty Hunter with his best paternal stare and waited.
‘Alright, deal. I’ll stay put and behave as long as I get to fix my armour myself. I’m not letting anyone else tinker with it.’ Teal’c nodded slowly again and turned to go.
‘Where you going?’ Boba blurted out, still a little unnerved.
‘To my quarters. It is late and I am in need of Kel’no’reem. That’s my version of sleep.’ Boba smiled but it quickly turned into a yawn.
‘Oh, I see. Well, goodnight. See you in the morning?’ Boba uttered, settling back, hand resting possessively on his helmet. Teal’c hadn’t even noticed him grab it. He turned back and settled back in the chair.
‘Is there something else you wish to talk about?’ Teal’c asked, his deep baritone was so comforting to Boba, but he daren’t mention it.
‘Umm, yes and no. I’m not sure I like being here alone. I’m not normally worried by that, but this place is so different from home.’ Teal’c let a small smile cross his face as understanding dawned.
‘I had the same misgivings when I first arrived. I’ll stay here, Dr Lam will not mind.’ he quickly unlaced his boots and stretched out on the next bed along, staying in Boba’s view.
‘Thank you Teal’c. You could almost be a Mando’ade and for that, I thank you.’ Boba smiled softly and drifted off to sleep, the smile still on his face. Teal’c nodded as he too drifted off, relaxed and comfortable.
