All I have to say is I held it together until the very last scene of the episode. That ending scene was so touching, I almost cried. I know, I'm a wimp. I hate, hate, hate that Carson is gone.

But, what I hate even more is that he died from an exploding tumor. Grrr.....

What's that all about?

But, despite exploding tumors, I thought it was very well written. Like the interaction with the people outside of the team.

EDIT:

Oh, oh, oh I forgot to mention. I was almost irrate when they showed the team about to take Carson back to Earth. They showed Shep in his class A uniform. Man alive, I would have made him go back and shave. There is no way anybody would have gotten by in that formal uniform without shaving.

I realize for show purposes that is his "look". But, talk about disrespect to the uniform and to Carson.

JMHO!

I did not even notice if he was shaven or not. I can understand what you mean by that though. I enjoyed this episode. It was very sad though. Exploding tumors is a little over this top. I just thought at first that some Ancient device had triggered internal combustion.:huh1:

I just watched this episode. I missed it Sunday. Mothers Day of all days to have this epi.

I was laughing through most of it, but the whole Carson looking forward to fishing...I can understand that. If I was there I would have dropped everything and went fishing with him. It would have saved his life!
I was irritated that no one would go with him. :tryme: Its like people get a clue. Arg.

Rodney's berating of the two young scientist (in his bath robe no less) in the infermery was comical. Talking about his 4 year old niece...precious.
"That does not make you smart. Just a little less stupid." Dang straight.

Loved Ronon's grab flag game. Nutting like beating up on Shep and getting away with it. LMBO :shep1

Ok, I knew the whole death scene was comming...but it was Sheppards face at the memorial and his fighing his feelings that got me.
I found it very respectful they had a bagpiper. Nice touch.

At the end when Ronon walked into Carsons Room where Rodney was packing Carsons things and their discussions. I can see how some people found him a little cold about the whole loss of a friend. (So, I have read on other sites) But I think after so many years he has learned to hide things very well. He has watched people live and die all around him. ie: Sedeta. (sp?) And when he was telling Rodney not to blame himself. He was right. Things like this does happen. But it is harder when it is a friend. Someone you have known for years.

Over all this was a good episode. Funny and sad.

I liked this ep (well except for the small detail that Carson died, that sucked).

Funniest moment was Carson wishing Zelenka luck.

"I don't need luck. Checkmate."
