**********

I really don't like parallel universe stories. They've gotten really old. I also don't like episodes whose only purpose is to make a social staement, which was blatantly obvious in this episode. I also don't understand why Sam wore her formal dress for so long. And when we found out that Sam had been married to Rodney in the parallel universe, I just felt annoyed. It's like Sam will go for any guy in the series, it's gotten old. She should be with Jack, that's the reason why he left the SGC, was so that they could be together.

Well, I have to agree with carter on this one. Although the episode was ok, the whole parallel universe thing is getitng old.

I think we are seeing how they are going to stop the ori though.

I have to agree. I am sick and tired of the whole parallel universe and/or alternate reality thing. When they showed the previews for this episode I thought "Oh Lord not again.":sigh:

What are you talking about, parallel episodes ALWAYS RAWK!

Star trek's mirror universe? The third to last ep in season 1 of SG-1?

I'm not a huge fan of the "What if?" game.

Ok, the Parellel Universe thing is alright if you have a good story line to back it. But what I thought was really cool was the whole Earth vanishing into thin...can't really say air can I...Ok...Space. The final frontier...oops wrong show...LOL Could not be helped I am a Star Trek fan too, from waaaaaaaay back.

You know I was just thinking that It reminded me of that epasode of Atlantis where Rodney was trying to get that Ancient weapon to work and it delt with drawing energy from parallel universes.

Or maybe you could say "vanishing into vaccume." :) Doesn't have quite the same ring to it though.

Well they did make mention to that episode in this episode. Maybe that's why it made you think of it. :)

I did like the story, and earth disapearing was cool, and I believe that is how they will defeat the Ori eventually. I like stargate because of it's truth to science and it's real possibility of happening now. However lately they seem be getting away from that, and when they want to do something they cant explain, well just send them to a alternate universe. I mean how was carter ever able to get back? she just got back.

was random, ill admit. But apparently with Rodneys genious, they devised a way.

I liked this episode. I'm a big fan of Sam, so that might be a big reason. Because it's a mostly Carter based episode. With the other cast only having minor roles.

Although, alternate realities can be annoying and overused, it's an interesting dilemma.

The episode (in my opinion) is a fascinating take on how governments deal with social unrest and the kind of ego that this particular administration has.

I also enjoyed the last scene.
