I was intrigued by the episode, but not sure what to think of it. But, I can blame part of that on my kids for making me miss the last 10 minutes of the episode "twice".

First, I must say, I was so amused with the scene with Shep, Ronan and Zelenka (sp??) in the begining. Ronan cracks me up.

Was anybody suprised Rodney named the whale "Sam"? :raz: Oh and that leads me into the whole thing about Rodney and Shep not being able to hear anything. Oh, I got a chuckle out of that.

I do wish the episode was reworked though. It took so long to get even any idea of why anything was happening and then me missing the last 10 mins or so made me miss a "HUGE" point of the episode.

It was awsome.

Whats the last thing you remember... there were a bunch of things that popped up.

Okay, I got the "gist" of why things were happening, but missed the two "BIG" explanations.

Why the whales were coming?

and

Why people were getting the visions?

I did enjoy that episode, but I have to admit, I still can't figure what was the deal with the image of the ancient woman that spoke weird. She sounded like one of the whales.

Why were they having visions, where they really ghosts. I understand the deal with the whales showing up but I am still confused about the visions.

They were getting the visions from the whales to warn them off, since the sun was gonna blow, and the last time atlantises shield protected them, thus they went to atlantis

Yes the whales were attempting to save themselves by getting within the Atlantis shield. The visions were things the whales remembered from the last time and that was the closest they could get to communicating with humans.

Visions of Star Trek IV come to mind. What were they trying to be saved from?

Hey, maybe the whales are mutated Ancients, that's how they knew and understood what the shield meant!

In the movie, they needed to whales to communicate with an alien vessel. Why they were speaking whale is beyond me.

Reminds me of hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. In the begining when all dolphins go back to space singing the song thanks for all the fish.

Ok, well this epi finnaly was shown here.

First off, Laughed my butt off when Teyla was meditating and then the camera shows Ronon off to the corner and all you hear is snoring. That was halarious.

Ok, got the whole whale thing. Instict etc.

I love how Shep was the one to come up with such a simple plan. It made so much sense. Deatalus took a beating though, but it saved a world so it was worth it.

I love at the end where Ronon came up to Teyla wanting to meditate with her. And she is like saying oh no...you fall asleep.
He walks over gets a fighting stick, whaks it agaist the wall and then hands it to her. That was good. Especially the smirk on her face.
They have got such a Brother/Sister relationship for sure. Holy cow. That was quite evident.
When Ronon was by her bed side it was not a lovers worry, it was most definatly a worry for a sister.

I enjoyed this simple episode.

Hey AC, didn't you just love the parts where Sheppard was trying to get Rodney's attention by making fun of Canadian stuff?...:raz: My hubby and I certainly got a kick out of that.

Also liked the very end when Weir couldn't hear a blessed thing and shouts back 'No, thank you!' to Sheppard comment. :D

I found it very cute how Rodney seemed to feel very connected w/ this whale creature and put quite a fair bit of effort to learn about it. It certainly didn't seem like something Rodney would be interested in at all.

Of course I LMAO at Shep makin' fun of Canadian stuff...course Rodney can't hear a thing...I wonder what kind of big long discussion he would go into about Canadian stuff if he had of heard Shepps comments. :hmm: :SC:XD

Yes, Weir had no idea what was being said...so funny.

Geniuses need hobbies too....why can't whale watching be one of Rodney's...XD
Actually I thought it was pretty cool how he researched so deeply into the whole whales thing.

I love how the whales were warning the humans about something that was happening above them.
Watching for Wraith or not...should not of the sensors picked up anomalies in the sun such as that? Weird... They are still looking up. :Eh:

good question AC on the whole sensors picking up the anomoly thing, I'd have to rewatch the episode again because my memory is fuzzy (as it normally is...:SC:) cuz it seems strange that Rodney or Zelenka wouldn't have come up w/ some complicated explanation on why Atlantis' sensors didn't pick it up....:D

He is only a self proclaimed know it all. Actually, he has said several times that he cannot do everything. But, I don't think he really thinks that. LOL!
