I was traveling to Vancouver on a bussiness trip, and on the way home who should I sit next to in first class but none other than Amanda Tapping aka (Samantha Carter of SG1).

Well, it did not take long (about 2.5 min) for me to introduce my self and explain my fascination with Stargate SG1. She was very gracious and said she loved meeting fans of the show. I then told here about this website that I run with a couple of other Stargate Fans and that it would be awesome if I could interview her for the site. She agreed, saying she would give 5 questions. So below is the following interview.

Q: Do you want Stargate SG1 to end? Or would you like the show to find a way to keep going?

A: Well that is a tough question. I love the series and everyone who works on it. I mean were like one big family. So with the end of the show you have to say goodby to all these people, and that’s hard to do and not much fun. However this will give me some more time with my daughter so that is plus I guess. I also have some plans to do some guest shots on Atlantis, and there is still some talks of a couple of direct to dvd movies. So I’m not saying good by to Samantha Carter for good just yet.

Q: You mention the direct to dvd movies, any word on these?

A: There still discussing the possibility of these and it’s looking more and more like it’s gonna happen. But nothing is positive as of yet.

Q: What do you think of Richard’s decision to leave the show after season 8?

A: At that time, he had already been taking quite a bit of time away from the show, so we (the cast and crew) had already had an idea he was going to call it quits. Mike, Chris, and I had talked with him about staying for one more season, but he was ready to leave to spend more time with his daughter. We all respected that, so it is as it is, and we move on.

Q: How do you think Ben Browder is doing on the show?

A: I think he is doing great. I mean he had some big shoes to fill. Here he comes into a show which is completely trying to reinvent itself. A lot of people think the show should have just ended. He had a little trouble in Season 9 but I think he really came into his own in season 10.

Q: Last question. Of all the characters that have killed off the show, which one do you really wish had not been given the ax so to speak.

A: I would have to say Martouf. JR and I really became friends off screen and that chemistry showed up on screen. I think there could have been much more to explore with those two characters.

Well, with my five questions asked, I ended the interview. We spent much of the rest of the flight talking about our kids and our jobs. A very gracious person.
