According to Gateworld (http://www.gateworld.net/news/2006/12/exclusive_third_istargatei_serie.shtml), a third Stargate series is now in the works.

I think they should let it die. Atlantis is really poor quality compared to Stargate SG-1. Or at least wait a few years after a show ends to start a new series.

The hubby and I were just wondering what they were going to stick in the time slot, since they are moving Battlestar Galactica to Sunday's.

Colonel Carter

Is that a good or bad thing when a show gets moved to Sunday nights?

Anissa T

I just can't picture BG playing on Sundays. I think that's a bad day for it to be playing. Eureka doesn't even play on Sundays. I thought Friday's was an appropriate day, but they needed to work on the time slot issue. For the first couple of weeks, it was on at a different time. It was driving the hubby nuts. At one point, he forgot to turn it on because for like three weeks it was on at 9 and then 10 and then 9 and then 10. Then 9 was a rerun and 10 was a new episode. Now it's 9 and a SG1 rerun at 10.

Poor viewers!

Maybe Sunday will work out. Most people are probably home that night since they'd have to work the next day. Of course a lot of people have church or other activities on Sunday nights too. Didn't ER get moved to Sunday nights or was it Mad About You? Although it seems to me that moving a show to Sunday nights in generally a death sentence.

I don't know about other people, but in general I do not watch TV on Sundays.

Amen. The writers killed Stargate SG-1 with their turn into the stupid. The same group of writers contribute to Atlantis. Unless it's a totally new group involved with a new show, I don't hold out much hope that they'll come up with anything worth my time to watch.

Both altantis and sg-1 are extremley fantastic I love em lots. I know many of you guys think atlantis is low quality, but if it was 50% as good as atlantis id watch it!

I'm not a nerd. LOL! I love the original Star Trek and TNG. Although, I've discovered via reruns that I have a new found liking for Star Trek Voyager. I think that's the name of it.

Did anyone watch the Star Trek or TNG movies?

Colonel Sampras

Im not a nerd either. But the general view points is sci fi equals nerdism. This is ofcourse not true but for the ignorant un-nerdy non-sci-fi-viewers this statement is true. Although I have to say star trek would be a inch nerdier with the greeting live long and prosper :D It's all fun and good!

Anissa T
09-24-2007, 11:37 AM
Hey, atleast Star Trek had a saying. LOL! But, that was his closing not his opening.

But, I get what your saying. I have family who calls me a nerd. But, if thats the name I get for watching good TV, then so be it. LOL!

I'm not sure why, but I've always had a attraction to the science fiction genre, be it movies, TV or books. Although, I have yet to dress up, go to a convention or wait "dressed up" in line for a movie on opening day.

Colonel Sampras

Going to world of warcraft realeases of new expansions, painted in green and dressed like an orc. NOW THAT'S NERDY! I mean if it was a convention I bet even the actors would find you nerdy. The actors are probably not as nerdy as the fans, and if you were Christopher Judge, and someone walked up to you in a serpent suit, with a huge mole and freckles and glasses, wouldn't that seem nerdy for the actor? Some fans even tatoo symbols from shows

I mean come on it's only a show!

Anissa T

To each it's own. We all have our things. You could easily say about my tattoos "they are only names", but they mean something to somebody.

Although, I must admit, from an artistic standpoint, pretty good. I don't rightly know if the symbols are correct, but that had to be extraoridnarily difficult.

Hubby has all of Star Trek TOS on Laser Disc (that was many years ago...LOL!)

He has all of TNG, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager on tape.

He has all of the movies, either on Laser Disk or DVD.

Why?

I have never seen Star Trek, I tried seeing it a few times, but it was only about this kid his father and a human with silver spray on his face potraying a robot! They were called someking on K

I was just wondering since Star Trek is the science fiction genre and we were talking about that if anyone else besides me likes the Star Trek movies.

Like any show, you have to catch the better episodes to actually enjoy it. The original series is so campy that I find it comical. I liked TNG, and loved Deep Space Nine, lots of political intrigue in that one! Voyager is okay, and "Enterprise" was a disaster. Hubby stopped watching it after the first season. The man is a devoted Star Trek fan (he played a Klingon in one of the fan films produced at Universal Studios). But he was so disappointed in Enterprise. Considering they screwed up the Star Trek timeline in the first season, and it just went downhill from there, I never watched it. Majel Rodenberry pulled her endorsement after the first season. She wasn't any too happy about the turn the show took, either. I read an interview where she said Gene would have been furious at the writers for not being more consistent, and knowing the Star Trek 'history'.

Thats just my :2cents:

Well, your in good company because I am a huge Star Trek Fan....Could you not tell from my site..LOL

I know more about Star Trek than I know about Stargate. (Isn't that scary) The ships, the diffrent races...etc.
It was about 1976 or 1977 when they (my parents) sat me down infront of the TV and I watched Star Trek the original series.
Personally my favorite ST movie was "The Search For Spock"...my second favorite was "Nemisis". That one was freaking awsome. The Remus Ship called the Scimitar...freakin genious design. Picard was right it was a preditor. The Enterprise E is of a nice starfleet design. I have scematics of many diffrent ST ships including Enterprise NX-1.

Oh, and CS we are called Trekies or Trekers not nerds. :raz:

LOL!

I enjoyed The Wrath of Khan. Great one in my opinion. But, I hold special place for the original ST movie. I thought it was so simple, but good.

Nemesis was so good that I felt guilty for liking it so much over the other ST movies. That movie rocked. I hate and loved the ending. But, I will admit, they got Shinzon right on.

To be honest, the only movies I paid attention to were the first "original" movie, and then the one with the whales, I can never remember the name of it. Hubby and son will spend an entire Saturday from noon until midnight 'trekking out'. Me, I'm doing good to sit still through one movie!! LOL!

That would be Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home.
That was their 'Save the Whales Campain'.
"There be whales here..." Scotty, gotta love him.

It's not useless! I should know, I know things like that about Stargate! I'm still learning some of the 'minor' characters, but I know enough that sometimes I scare myself! (Especially when I catch continuity bloopers in the show! LOL!)

Klingon. Warf of TNG was the first Klingon to serve in Starfleet.

Ok, I would not be a true Star Trek Fan if I did not know this one...

That would be Gene Roddenbarry's, widowed wife Majel Barrett(Roddenberry)...She played "Nurse Christine Chapel", "Lt. M'Ress "from "Star Trek" TOS
She also played, "Lwaxana Troi" in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"
...also she played the unnamed first officer "Number One", when Christopher Pike was Captain of the Enterprise in the episode..."The Cage," (The inital pilot by the way..hehe)
Gee, there is bennifits to being the girlfriend of the writer, producer, crator etc... of the show...considering she was an unknown in a lead roll.

Does that answer your question NewFan?...

LOL! You just made me stop and see if I can do it with both hands. I had always just instinctively done it with my dominate hand. But, I've confirmed it. I can indeed do it with both hands.

The more stargate the better! They could have 10 shows and I would watch them all if they were good.

Anissa T
09-30-2007, 12:41 PM
There are only a handful of episodes that I didn't like. Although, every now and then I come across one I missed. It shocks me since I watch the show so much. I finally broke down and started buying the seasons on DVD. In season 4, which I thought I had saw in it's entirty (sp??), squeezed one in there that I hadn't seen. Of course, I missed 1/2 of season 9 and I just got season 10 on DVD, so I finally was able to watch a few of the episodes I missed.

Colonel Sampras

Yeah I saw the ep watergate on s4 today (online) , there are alot I missed. Was gonna watch window of oppertunity but the file didn't work, or it worked for like 1 minute, then it failed

Angelica Constantine
09-30-2007, 11:31 PM
Yeah, sometimes that happends CS. Don't give up you'll see it soon enough. :)

I missed like a season or two before Mitchell and Vala showed up. No, cable TV or internet at the time. So now I have to grin and bear it when it comes to those two or else I will have missed a big chunk of SG.
Apparently at one point Vala inhabited Daniels body or something? Thats what I heard. I have no idea..but if true....I would have loved to of been Vala in that season.
I know I am so silly. ah well..:woo:
