I got that email too. I thought it was unbelievable... I tried it with my sister and she got it too... there are a few words that are a bit hard to get because they have the same letters in them... I kept getting them mixed up so my sentences didn't make much a sense.
Kdina cool tgguoh in'st it

This sentance is a small sample, of one of the
the best example of how and why people read
things the way they do.

Ok, that sentence is just not right. *shakes head*:huh1:
The word 'Sentence', was spelled wrong. There are two 'the'(s). Too many 'to'(s).
There is no need for, 'of one of the the best example'
'Example': needs to be pluraled. ie: Examples (if it belonged)
(This sentence, is a small sample of how and why people read things the way they do.) - This is the way it should look.
~Now I am not the most proficiant speller or grammar expert in the world, but even I could see something wrong with that sentence.

It's hard to take anyone seriously, or even pay attention to what they're trying to say, when it's almost impossible to read what they've written.
You might not care about spelling and grammar, but if you're going to communicate, especially through written word (such as posts on a forum), it's vital that you actively use both. Otherwise those reading your posts are forced to 'translate' or 'decipher' what you mean, and those of us who don't have the time to waste doing so, will simply skip over your posts, and those written in a similar manner. Which prevents conversations and discussions from actually taking place.

wow i still dont care bout them cuase i can spell pretty desently
Robin K

Uh huh. FYI..."decently". That's how it's spelled. There's a spell checker on the post form. I suggest you utilize it.

i dont like utilizing spell checks
Robin K
02-12-2008, 07:25 PM
Any particular reason why? I find it handy when I'm in a hurry and have had a very long, tiring day. I guess that's because I try to make everything I post, whether in this forum, in my blogs, or on my site easy to read. I don't want any of the readers who visit my website, or my blogs, to have to stumble through and decipher what I say. I guess it comes down to having a bit of pride in myself and my work. Nothing looks worse than a site, blog or post that is full of 'text message language' or misspellings. Totally annoying. And I for one don't waste my time on any of them. If the author doesn't care enough to make what he/she is saying understandable, why should I care enough to take the time to read (and decipher) it?

i dont really have a reason i just dont like spell cheks in my opinion they are kind of annoying
Robin K
02-12-2008, 07:35 PM
Annoying in what way? (I have my suspicions on why you would find it annoying.)
colonel Mitchell
02-12-2008, 07:39 PM
well for one i have to down load the spelling check on this site
Robin K
02-12-2008, 07:45 PM
Really? That's odd...it's 'automatic' on mine. It's possible there's a difference in the browsers or something. I use Mozilla Firefox (and absolutely love it!).
I thought it was just part and parcel of the forum itself...but then I know just enough about the computer to get myself into trouble...*grin*

Ok, I have read all the post here  and we need to stop this now before it spins out of control. :hey:
Yes, Robin makes some valid points cM, and you need not be so defensive. I know you are still young yet and that us old folks don't know what were talking about. But I hate to burst your wee bubble there cM, but we do. It is difficult for us to read what you have written and I understand that is how you are use to doing things. But please for all our sakes even if you don't use the spell check, that you write out full sentences with commas (,) and periods (.) too please. Then we can understand you better and not get so confused or ignore your posts. ok?
Trust me I know I should be the last person in the world talking to you about spelling, punctuation and grammar...but I try and make it so Everyone can understand.
I only say this so we can all get along better, alright?
colonel Mitchell
02-13-2008, 05:13 PM
